Join us for our Spring exhibition at the beautiful and historic Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock
We will explore themes reflected in the title of our conflicting relationships with the Earth. A symbol for beauty, growth and renewal as well as destruction, pain and loss. From magnificence to intimacy, a complicated relationship that is, ultimately of our own creation.
LA Printmaking was honored to have the well known Los Angeles-based multi-media artist, Merion Estes, as our juror for this exhibition. Estes was the subject of a powerful 20 year retrospective recently on view at the Craft and Folk Art Museum;"Merion Estes:Unnatural Disasters". As Christopher Knight, of the LA Times observed, "in Este's extravagant paintings, not only do exquisite nature, abhorrent degradation, opulence and death coincide. They are inseparable."
